TALL SHIPS BOSTON 2012!

Tall ships and naval vessels from around the world are coming to Boston this summer! What better way to see them than under sail, from the deck of the 1812 privateer schooner Fame?

The Tall Ships are coming June 30-July 5 to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812. Two hundred years ago, Boston was the home base for USS Constitution, while Massachusetts led the way in outfitting privateers such as Fame. On this special day:
  • The Tall Ships, including the US Coast Guard's Eagle, will arrive in Boston
  • More than 40 US Navy ships will be on hand to welcome the Tall Ships
  • The Navy's Blue Angels will welcome them with its famous flight demonstration
Fame will sail from Salem at 0930 Saturday morning bound for Boston Harbor, where she will join the Tall Ships sailing up President Roads into Boston Harbor. We will sail with the Tall Ships for several hours, serving lunch on board, before returning to Salem at 1700.

Get your tickets, charge your camera batteries, and get ready for the sail of a lifetime!

RUM & REVOLUTION!

Rum and sailors have always gotten along like wind and water!  Molasses imported from the West Indies was being distilled into rum in New England from the earliest colonial times, and rum was the basis for many of the libations imbibed by the Sons of Liberty as they plotted to push Massachusetts into open rebellion against the Crown.

On these cruises, you'll have the opportunity to sample contemporary beverages, hear live performances of 18th-century songs, and even dance a hornpipe! Grog, rum punch & and rum swizzles will be available for $5 to those of age; sample-size glasses of Madeira and port for $3. Soda and water are also available for $2.

FAME is a replica of a privateer schooner from the War of 1812. During the Revolution and the War of 1812, hundreds of privateers sailed from New England ports to strike a blow for liberty. Come see what all the fuss was about! Sing the songs, drink the drinks, dance the dances, and sail the schooners that helped earn us our independence from Great Britain!

Tickets are available online for our 2012 Rum & Revolution cruises. Cost is $30 per person — sorry, NO discounts, passes, vouchers or Groupons! To purchase advance tickets go to www.zerve.com/schoonerfame/rum.
